Capers pack big flavor in a tiny package, they are the edible unopened flower buds of the caper bush and are native to the Mediterranean. Capers are often consumed in pasta and meat dishes or salads, such as Chicken Piccata, Fish Piccata, and other seafood pasta dishes. Capers also make for elegant hors d'oeuvres, i.e. with crostini and salmon and cream cheese spread. They have a slightly stronger taste than caperberries.
